Nola Creative Arts is an art studio in Downtown Cheboygan owned by local artist Christine Nola. Christine is passionate about inspiring creativity in others so that they may experience the joy of artistic expression. A knowledgeable and patient teacher, Christine hosts paint n' sip classes, group workshops, and studio drop-ins at her art studio at 329 N. Main St. in Cheboygan, MI.
Additionally, Christine offers individual instruction, teaching painting fundamentals like composition, color mixing, and more.

At Nola Creative Arts, we hope to unlock the creative potential within each individual. Our art studio in Downtown Cheboygan provides a welcoming and collaborative space where we offer group painting classes and individual instruction.

Meet Christine Nola
I opened my studio to provide people a relaxing, inviting space to make art. My hope is that people will explore their creativity, develop their skills, and make more art!
I believe everyone can learn to make art. I teach my students how to choose and mix colors, different painting techniques, and how to create a painting from start to finish. I don’t just give my students a pre-drawn image to paint. I teach with patience and joy because those are the skills I’ve been gifted.

How long have you been an artist?
I have been an artist since I was about 15. I didn’t know I could draw until I developed a crush on an artist and tried it myself. I didn’t make a lot of art while I was raising my kids, but now that they’re grown, it’s my passion!!
What is your training?
I have a Bachelors Degree in Multimedia & Visual Communication and an Associate in Arts Degree in Marketing & Design. But most of my art skills come from self-exploration and practice!
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that anyone can be an artist! I start with teaching the fundamentals like color mixing and choosing colors, and take my students step-by-step through the process of creating a painting.
